Career Events

Once you have decied to apply for dietetics

These events are intended for those who have already applied to study dietetics or those who are currently in the process of applying to study dietetics. They provide prospective dietetic students the opportunity to gain insight into the work of a dietitian. These events are recommended for those prospective students who have been unable to gain work shadowing experience within a hospital.

Objectives
After attending the session the audience will:

-Know the role of a dietitian and possible career opportunities.

-Gain insight into specialist dietetics in both the acute and primary care settings.

-Understand the relationship between dietetics and the specialist dietary products industry.

-Gain insight into the patients perspective of healthcare and/or dietetics.

-Be aware of the role of the British Dietetic Association.

-Understand the challenges and experiences of a newly qualified dietitian.
